Head Mounted Displays (HMDs)

Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) can be monocular (for one eye) or binocular (two eyes). Furthermore, a distinction is made between closed and semipermeable HMDs. Head fixation requires head tracking to make the displayed content dependent on the position and orientation of the head. HMDs offer the great advantage of being able to generate spatially comprehensive, theoretically unlimited virtual environments.
