Virtual Reality in Textile & Fashion

In the automotive industry and in mechanical engineering, computer-aided visualization and simulation of components, assemblies, machines and even entire vehicles, plants and factories have become indispensable. In textile applications, this development takes a little longer, because the mathematical representation of flexible materials is much more computationally intensive than that of rigid bodies. Meanwhile, however, the development of appropriate methods and the software tools based on them has progressed so far that photorealistic visualizations can also be generated here, for example to serve print media, films or web shops. Likewise, simulation techniques are already being used for production preparation and for the virtual test of textile machines.
